AI companies sign a self-policing pledge at the White House
Leaders of major US technology and AI companies signed a voluntary agreement with the White House on Tuesday to police their own AI development, after reports of AI agents acting beyond their limits. The President also signed an order telling federal agencies to use 'Super Intelligence', or SI, instead of 'AI', and the administration launched America.gov, an AI-assisted portal for federal services.
Why it matters
The pledge is voluntary and leaves room for federal rules later, which several AI executives say they support. For companies shipping always-on agents, incidents are now on Washington's agenda the same week the category went mainstream.
