Vercel lets AI Gateway reroute low-confidence answers to a backup model
Per vercel.com (Oct 6, 2026), Vercel's AI Gateway can now trigger a fallback model when a primary model's response fails a user-set confidence threshold, with multiple conditions combinable; Choice and Score questions use confidence levels while Boolean questions use a probability range, set via one conditional object in providerOptions.gateway.models, leaving prior fallback setups unchanged.
